The Sun always Shines. Its our fault if we dont think so:)

Todayyy went to the Alan Flecher Exhibition at the Cube Gallery in Manchester. Alans work was realy diverse as in he had done work for shop designs and then done wacky posters to calenders. He had been going for fifty years so i gathered he would have done quiet alot. My favourite peices from his exhibition was his bag design for a boutique called 'Flora' in London. However what caught my eye the most was these simple posters. The imagery to me was to good but the phrases were what stood out.

African born, the son of English migrants who moved back to the UK when Alan was five, Fletcher didn’t invent graphic design, but his contribution was to pioneer the modern British design industry as we know it today. Educated at the Central School of Art, the Royal College of Art and Yale University’s School of Architecture and Design, Fletcher made the most of his studies and was the co-founder of what became Pentagram – easily one of the most respected design houses of its type. Before his death in 2006, Fletcher was often quoted as saying that design was ‘a way of life’ that encompassed every creative outlet.

  1. My mum used to work with Alan Fletcher and Theo Crosby at Pentagram. I am lucky enough to have both these pieces on my bedroom wall. They are such an inspiration.
