Soooooooo we is bkkkkkk from easter!done relatively abit of work so not sooo worried bowt the seminars with timmy tim. Went in and had a lecture on a few adverts and what we though they were made for and why they may have bee madein a certain way. In other words tim was trying to show us how we could brand Spam and in what ways other wel know brands have tried to sell their products to the riht kind of buyers. For exaple the crusha milkshake adverts are kinda silly and fun as obviously kids are goin to be the main source of seling point for this product. Whereas an abslute vodka advert is more slik and safisticated as its obviously aimed at someone who can legally drink but also some wit abit more moeny who can afford this drink as we al know its not cheap.

Rain drops keep falling on ma headdddd!?

So went into finish off the film and get in onto Final Cut. Also need to add some music and tweet it alittle. In the end I decided to use the song "Raindrops keep fallin on my head". Even though it dosent tie n wit the lyrics used in the video it definalty ties in the essence of the film of lyrics falling onto the umbrella like rain. With a little help from jues putting it together we managed to finish it adding a few special effects but we tended to just leave the film as it was as I thought it may complicate the film and in that trn become confusing for the viewer.:) ekkkkkk I LOVE IT and as Timmy said its s shit its gd:). ha

Ryt ok well not really worked thatmuch on the Spam idea but I just did a few spider diagrams to think of how I could rebrand the product but tbh I dont really understand the aim of how I can rebrand. I though of ovbvious thing such as the shape and size of the can and maybe the colour sceme, logo. However I dont want to change the project I simply want it to be seen in a different way. From that I thought of the target audience for this product and who would actually buy this product? Its pretty cheap but when people say Spam its not exaclty on every1s list of favourite foods. From my view the best audience to hit and really persuade to buy something is "The Kids". Sooooo I had an idea of making the product appeal more toa younger age group by mabe creating characters for both boys and girls which could be related to the tin and the products? wheather this is a gd idea r even what the brief is asking I dont know but its a start ryt :$.

OLAAAA!not wrote on her for awhile but yanooo its easterrr eating bare eggsssss or not!Just researching abit about Spam and its historyy had alook at the adverst for Spamto try and come up with some ideas to rebrand the product.Im defo sat in the dark though man. Also had alook at the film percipilis that I'm gong to writemy critical review on:( the film wasgd but I'd rather just wacth the film and not write the review. The film was basically about modern day religions and differnt viewd on how certain countries are living in violence to this day. I found the film kinda an eye opener about how much freedom we have and how we can do pretty much whatever we want to do in life. So anyhuuu the plan is we have to write a crytical review on the graphics of the film and how it relates to the storyline and message the film is trying to portray. SOME BUY ME AND EGGG!

SPAM!? wtf!

sooooooooooo when i though the work had stopped we got another project. :( not only that but when Tim gave us the breif I was like u havin a bubble. The breif is basically to rebrand what we know as the lunch meat SPAM?seriously though? There three possible breiefs we can follow either rebranding spam or there an illustration and motion interavtive brief. We just got a breifoverviewof Spam and what makes the brand Spam so wellknow and popular.So to be honest I dont get it but we have 3 weeks to get some research on Spam soooooooooo im on the meat.EASTERRRRRRRRRRRR:)

Filmmmm timeeeee:)

Ok sooo now all the projects handed in its now time to sort out my film:) I had the idea of using an umbrella and word lyrics coming out of the umbrella like rain. However when we thought about how I could realistically film this I thought of using fish wire attached to letters which dropped onto the umbrella like rain?!whether it would work or not i dont know but i would shortly find out:)?! Soo went in with the impression that I would use the blue screen and have someone holding the umbrella but I was kind of impossible when we needed someone to drop letters onto the umbrella. So in the end we used stock frame and took individual pictures of letters falling onto the umbrella and then speeded up the process. The lyrics came from the beetles song "All you need is love". I wanted to use this song as it linked with the Liverpool theme with the beetles, but also I just liked the idea of using Love as a theme as its kinda universal.:)xxx

freeeeeedom!well almost

FINAL HAND IN DAYYYY!;) handed in everything for the competition contest project. Presented all my work to Toby and Charlotte who seems to like my silly idea. They felt the concept and the way it had been designed worked well but however they both thought I could have been a bit more imaginative with the whole trophy idea. Charlotte suggested that I could have made the trophy by hand rather than used a gnorme but nevertheless the presentation went well :)xxxx

umbrellllaaaaaaaa:)

sooooooooo cam ein to do ma film 2day which I did finish in the end didnt really take too long but with the help of john , timmy and rukkkkk managed to complete it. My idea was to have the lyrics of the Beetles classic "All you need is love" falling onto an umbrella like rain. The idea was reeeeeeeel simple and the film was soo low budget as tim said 'its was that shit its good' lol.

Also completeed my final poster last nyt so gonna get it printed off after uni :). Sprayed my gnome last nyt which is going to be my trophyyy:). So basically all i have to do is my sketchbook which i havent done in ages sooooo that may take some time butttttt its paddys day tomozzzzzzzzzzz:)

Todayyy went to the Alan Flecher Exhibition at the Cube Gallery in Manchester. Alans work was realy diverse as in he had done work for shop designs and then done wacky posters to calenders. He had been going for fifty years so i gathered he would have done quiet alot. My favourite peices from his exhibition was his bag design for a boutique called 'Flora' in London. However what caught my eye the most was these simple posters. The imagery to me was to good but the phrases were what stood out.

Shes soooooooo gonna kill us!

Soooooooo today had a lecture about the pathways were gong to be chosing later on this year ready f0r next year. Rob and Tas gave us a breif overview of the illustratio and graphic commnication pathways. I figured im gong to chose the graphic communication as one i cant draw and two I see myself going into advertising and designing rather than being an illustrator but u never knowwwwwww! So anyhuuu a third year then did a workshop with us on how we can bring our interests into our work like fashion, music, etc. We had a quick mind map of everthing we felt inked with fashion and graphics and then moved on to designing a letter A wit different media like paints, crayons etc. It was gong pretty nice until ruk got bareeee carried away with the yellow paint! The girl realy did look like he wanted to kill us all:(.

Felling hot hot hot! Went in to see if Jules could help us out wit the poster designs I tried as they loo rather poo! Had ago anyway and heres a few but still not finished. Also need to sprya paint ma gnome for the trophy:).

Also came up with an idea for my bluecoats film I had the idea of using am umbrella in which lyrics would fly out of when I open it. Had alot at other film makers and how they use everyday things to make them seem like something eles for example paper into water.

Which is my idea exactly! could use paper to create raindrops falling onto the umburella whcih then unfold to become the letters which the make the lyrics :). We shall seeeeeeeee.

Okkkkkkkk i loveeeeeee my gomes ryt but i started to bare smash them in my garden and take picturessssss for my posterrrr! Had a few goesss at poster ideas wanted it to be simple but have a retro fell to it and also the colours had to all blend together.

For my trophy im just goin to spray paint one of my gnomes and varnish it and place it on a stand:) ekkkkkkkk

OKKKK DAD! soooo was thinking about my competition idea and came up with a banger with help off tobyyy:)! Gnome throwing comp!:) I wanted to keep the small theme but something not too serious but that I could work with! Spoke to timmy about it an he said get some gnomes and smash them as obvs the competition involves throwing.



Also went to the people industry musuem today as apart of another new project were doing to design our own apron for the hubb. We hav to design an apron with something on it that we feel strongly about which could be serious or silly. Anyways the museum was pretty cool had puppets and a badge making machineee!Also had cool stuff like posters which was to give us ideas for the apron. W e thought it would be funny to base ours on the Taz chocolate bar which got changed to a caramel freddo!:( not happy at alll!hehe

Ha ohh garyyyy!oh dearr gary was bare pissed off 2dayy with usss hmmm no workyy! i had an idea finally for my animation and even though he didnt say it was poop his face clealry showed it:( anyhuuu no used crying over spilt miky. I like my idea sooo im just going to develope it a little and its simple sooo?! Got the idea from my lettering workshop last week. I used the lyrics all you need is love rom the beetles song! Soooo had an idea off using lyrics popping up and flowing round the gallery!simpleeeee ideaaa. Gary told me to have alook a a Jenny Holzer who like places text onto buildings and all sorts just to have alook at how I could possibly do my video using the text idea??

Love is all you needdddddd!WELLLLLL went in uni as you dooo got a brewwwwww then did a workshop on lettering. We had to draw a phrase, lyrics, film title but try to make the letering resemble what the phrase/film etc was about. SSSSSSOOOOO as you can see I decided to draw the lyrics 'all you need is loveee' but to represent the LOVE I decided to shape the letters in a love heart shapeeeee!i love itttttt!


Alsooo was thinking about my animation project and a was thiking of using the bettles song all you need is love in the video as a kinda link with he bluecoats and liverpool????oh dearrrr decisionsssssss yo hmmm.

Okkkkkkkk soooooo not been on here for yearssss but bascially forgot abouttttt you as had loads of stuff going down!so sorrrry!:)Ok soooo did loads of research on the whole dwarf throwing comp which I think is preeeeeetty funny shiz. It snowed last nyttt:) but there is now none left how poop!came in for the lecture with Si Scott!I actually love him no jokes i didnt have a clue who the fluff he was or even seen any of his work to be honest buttt omgg hes actually a top banana. Even though his works illustration which im not too keen on, I think his work eithics and own personal view on the design industry are defianlty similair to my own.

Then had a computing lesson using Final Cut Express. Were working on an Alexandra Wilson Project creating our own 24 frame clip films. Jules taught us a few basics on how to use the

project, what certain things were and effects we could try. Then we simply had a mess about with making our own film clips with sound text etc. Seemed hard at first but got the hang of it in the end. Had a few more ideas for my film for the Bluecoats so gonna have ago at some rough sketches to show Tim my ideas nx week. arhhhhhhhh wkenddddd:)xxxxxxx

gawdddddd stop chewing on my toes man!

sooo started some ideas for our next visual communications project which basically issss.... Create a poster and trophy for a real competition or made up. So i did abit of research and found really bizzare stuff like extreme ironing, worm charming, nettle eating>!: weirdoooooos of this worlddddd! Then i cam across a dwarf throwing comp which I though was rather funnyyyy. Looked at some competition posters and trophys from all sorts of comps from the MTV AWARDS to golf comps to eating comps. Also went in and had a seminar and chatted about ideas but still not too sure on what competition im going to doo an wot style i want my poster and trophy to look :\. Alsooo beeen looking a bit more into my film ideas for tuesdays sessions with Paul. Was looking at the Coco Cola advert made with a mix of animation and real life. The basic aim of the advert is a made up version of wot happens inside drinks machine before we actualy receive our coke. The advert is really make-up belive and child like but i really like it as you cant help but watch even tho you already know wot the adverts about. I also love the new evain baby advert. Babiesssss full on roller bladinggg maahahahah i luvvv itttttt:)xxxxxxxx

Yo Pigeon!

okkkkkk soooooooo im poopppp on computers but I though this blog stuff is easier than writing a diary everydayyyyy:) soooooo just got back from Barcelona which was the shizz would defo go there again as theres loads to see but jus not enough time like. Soo had a lecture today with Paul on our film making projects which was pretty alryt. He showed us a few from past years that the students had made. Some involved animation others were mixed but it still gave us all a gd idea on where to start. Also showed us a few adverts and music vids which were made using blue screens which were doing nx wk:) Also had a mini workshop with Tim, Charlotte and Paul on storyboards and how we can adapt this to make our films flow. So0000 I booked out a film Charlotte suggested aswell called "SLEEP OF SCIENCE" by Michael Gandry. His works reallllll random but his ideas are pretty simple which gave me a few ideas for my film. Decided to go back to the Bluecoats today and have alot again at the gallery space whic we have to work with. Haent started researching the competition project yet :( dont realy understand but a have ao at that later:)bizzzzzzzzzleeeeexxxxxxx
